We’re Iona and Anita, we met over 10 years ago in the corporate world, working with some of the biggest global beauty brands. We bonded over our love of strength training, sneaking in workouts between meetings.

We both workout at home and wanted to upgrade our cheap bulky amazon dumbbells. The more we researched, the more we realised we couldn't find what we wanted. We were fed up of getting calluses from the steel handles in the gym and we didn't want to be wearing gloves at home to protect our hands and strengthen our grip. There were also no dumbbells that looked good, which is important when they're in your house!

We started sketching, testing and asking questions. Slowly, unbound began to take shape. We've created a dumbbell to address this huge gap in the market. We’ve kept the functionality of the traditional hex, rubber coated the handle for maximum grip strength, redesigned the width to fit our hands, and made them look good. We then tested and retested against all the dumbbells in the market and we're really proud of what we've made.

For us, strength training at home should be simple. All you need is well-designed dumbbells and clear workouts that you can fit into your day. No faff, no fuss, just proper strength training, re-done with women in mind.
